Hey Allison NYC, just looked at your flickr photos. Your bro Ethan is really adorable. How much do you guys pay for his hairdo? I love it!!!

Posted by: sarena at December 26, 2007 10:45 PM

Allisonnyc- (warning -not fitness related :)) does ur borther play with thomas the tank engine stuff? we just cleaned out my twins' closets and we have one huge huge box full of thw wooden thomas trains, stations, train tracks etc that we are ready to get rid of. if ur mom lives in the tri state area and u have a car and u want to take the stuff for him let me know and i will hold it for u for a bit. my husband is dying to get rid of it but i would prefer to give it to someone i know actually could use it. my son lived for it. we may also have like 5 million thomas the tank engine videos as well

let me know

Posted by: michelle at December 26, 2007 11:10 PM

Michelle OH MY GOSH YES. If it's Thomas or his Friends I'll take it. I don't have one picture of Ethan without an Emily, Thomas or Gordan in his hand. "Santa" got him everything Thomas too. He's totally Thomas Crazy.

Thank You! My mom and Brother will be SO happy.

Posted by: AllisonNYC at December 26, 2007 11:13 PM

Sarena- I'm the official stylist. But now that he's a big boy he yells at me and runs away when he sees a brush. He says "NOO Asin Go way leave my hair lone. Stop being silly!" He points is finger at me and makes his best angry face.

Posted by: AllisonNYC at December 26, 2007 11:16 PM

I just want to thank you again for letting my cousin and I workout at the Black Box. That was very nice of you all. It was my first Crossfit gym experience and it was great. The 12 days of Christmas was really rough, thanks again for your support and coaching. Hope to see you all again.

I'm calling shotgun on the vest again. Maybe.

Posted by: Jeff at December 27, 2007 9:28 AM

FYI
My brand new vest is off limits. I don't want it to get all sweated up by you animals. You can use that blue vest that was donated to the Box.

Posted by: Tyler Durden at December 27, 2007 11:07 AM

[Makes note to happen to stand over Tyler's vest following the completion of the next "12 Days of CrossFit"-scale workout he comes up with.]

From the windows to the walls, my brother.

Well done on the Total Brett. Let's see 1000 in 2008.

I hope everyone had a great X-mas. I let myself go for one day and enjoyed pie, chocolate, cookies, etc.. and paid the price. I can't believe how bad my head hurt and how horrible my stomach has felt. I guess that's a good thing -- my body wants no part of sugar or bad carbs, or so it seems.

Is anyone running the midnight run in central park for New year's eve? I wanted to do it, but realized I missed the deadline to sign up. I am assuming I can just run it without a number, but was wondering if anyone knew otherwise. Thanks.

allisonnyc the bag of trains is at the box. tyler was thinking about selling them on ebay to pay for the new space but xuan mai and i looked out for ur baby brother. i do expect a photo of him when he gets to see the bag of loot. :)

on more interesting (?) news got 4 kipping pullups twice in a row and stayed on the pullupbar BOTH TIMES. also front squated 100 lbs which was a pr for me. but i need sarena and allisonnyc to let me know the % of my bodyweight it was --though i am not in ur guys' league yet since i know icertainly weigh well over 100 lbs.

plus 2:01 minute handstand. at wall; Xuan mai -sunny's was listed at 1:59-so i have to take what i can get.
also it is sarena's bday on january 23 so we would like to get some people together to go out for dinner. sarena says wed are not as good so maybe tthursday the 24th- let us know if that works for people. my email is michellefoxman@yahoo.com

c u all saturday!

Michelle- YAY! EthanBoo is going to freak out. I'm going to be his hero which is great because for the last week everytime I go near him he points at me and says Go WAy Asin. It's breaking my heart. Maybe this will get me back on his good side even though I don't know what I did to get on his shit list in the first place. If it works I'm going to owe you one! Thank you again. He'll be so, so happy :)

Good job on the handstand. I'm guessing you're the same weight as me since you're skinnier but taller. In that case you Front Squatted about 85%. Seems like you're making lots of progress lately. Very exciting! Hard work is paying off. It's impossible not to make gains when you put the work in but you're speeding along!

In other news:::

I got my 1st CrossFit Cert in the Mail from the KettleBell cert.. WOoHoo. I'm waiting for the other 2 to come. I'm gong to the POSE cert in a few weeks, the OLY cert in a few months and I'm going to another general cert as soon as one opens up.

I'm going to be the most certified Black Boxer ever of all time. ;)

Felt like crap today. Woke up late and didn't drink any water at all. Was dehydrated during the workout but gutted through. Thanks to Jacinto for the water and Marisela for the apple. I felt like like passing out when I was done with that WOD. Thanks for the push Brian and great job everyone at the 1230 class.

Michelle OH MY GOSH. You're my Queen! There are over 100 trains and I've never even seen about half of them! Ethan and my Mom are going to freak. I was so shocked when I saw them that I had to dump them out on the floor and look at them. Amazing.

I need to give you a huge hug and I owe you coffee for the rest of your life. Thank you. I mean it.

Allison NYC--Happy Times, Good friends!

Posted by: sarena at December 27, 2007 6:57 PM

AllisonNYC no problem-the scary thing is that i knew every one of those trains. and i know every song from every video. my son even used to speak with a british accent that is how often he watched the thomas videos. there are a few missing. i dont think i had bulgy there. and like i said Toad. i also dont have tiger moth and by now i am sure there are oodles more. the fog horn makes noise so that wil be really annoying for your mom. i will see what videos we have and bring them in bc that is how my son learned all the characters.

u will have to think of something else though-i dont drink coffee. but every now and then if u could convince sarena to make me those paleo truffles of hers that would be outstanding!:)

but really I am very happy to make any little kid happy. i know how much pleasure those trains gave my son.

Posted by: michelle at December 27, 2007 7:07 PM

sarena-i refuse to organize and/or participate in a bday celebration for u if you are not going to eat cake!! with wheat and frosting and icing. it will be ok.i promise. the paleo police will give u a get out of jail free card. and i will drink ur margarita.

Posted by: michelle at December 27, 2007 7:11 PM

looking forward to cing u alex! awesome time hari!

Posted by: michelle at December 27, 2007 9:11 PM

That's amazing, Hari. I saw a couple rounds of that...did you even sweat???

AllisonNYC - Looking at you with those trains on the floor made me think to remind you to let the boy play with them a little too. You *said* you were only pushing them around to count them, but what number was "choo choo"?

Michelle - a 2:01 handstand? That does it - we are going to have to battle!

Posted by: Moon at December 27, 2007 9:28 PM

Michelle, thats a true friend feeding me crap and getting me a get out of jail free card!

Hari--you were right and are incredible with bodyweight stuff!

Posted by: sarena at December 27, 2007 9:42 PM

After doing a couple of rounds of the CFWarmup with a 20# weightvest, Coach P told me that I was doing Barbara with him.

What a horrible experience. Pukie was knocking at the door for the last 3 rounds and my head was pounding. I think I might have sprained a muscle in my back and given myself Rhabdo.

Here's to another wonderful day at The Black Box.

Posted by: Tyler Durden at December 27, 2007 10:36 PM

moon-u r on- saturday. and make sure to eat lots of those oatmeal things right before u show up. and ur antlers.

Posted by: michelle at December 27, 2007 10:44 PM

Thanks, Moon, Sarena,

I think pacing is key. I made a conscious effort to break everything into sets of three. It seemed to work well.

Moon, I was actually frightened to see the weight you were squatting for the CFT.

Sarena, you also seem to be getting scary strong.

Michelle, you can so start beating up the Upper West Side moms and taking their mortgage money.
