You don't know Jacked!

This is Jacinto. We call him "Jacked-cinto" for obvious reasons. He's 68 and in better shape than you or me. He's retiring today and that means he's going to have more time to workout and train people. He's been a shining star and a source of inspiration at our little gym. I think it is safe to say we all want to be like him when we grow up. I just want to take a moment to personally thank Jacinto for being a warrior and a great example of strength and determination to me. Whenever I think I cannot do a workout, I just watch Jacinto and remember he's 30 years older than me, he's jacked and he always smiles. Then I force myself to smile, try my hardest and get my workout done. Let us all take this opportunity to congratulate Jacinto and wish him the best.

Way to go, Jacked-cinto! Congratulations on a well deserved retirement! You're a great part of the gym and now we can hear how "This workout is some bullshit!" every day! LOL!

Love ya, man.

Holy shit, Keith, wait a sec...you're 38? Dude, you're old, oooooooollllllllllddddddddd!!!

Posted by: Rick Deckard at October 31, 2007 12:27 AM

Wow Jacked-cinto you are an inspiration to us all! You're living proof that you can be healthy and active well past Keith's crunchy age!

Happy Halloween people. And yes this is some bullshit-all day, every day!

Posted by: Jack Bauer at October 31, 2007 12:38 AM

Congrads Jacinto. Best wishes in retirement. I love hearing you yell out WHERE'S MY WALKER as you nail a faster Fran time than people who could be your grandkids. And yes folks, those photos of Jacinto are 100% legit... and getting better every day.

PUKIE THE PUMPKIN!

Who's up for some guerrilla marketing airline puke bag substitution? (see todays mothership picture of the day)

Posted by: dan def at October 31, 2007 12:38 AM

Haha. I read that first post and immediately heard Jacinto's voice in my head saying "this workout is some bullshit." Way to give me a laugh before I fall asleep.
I have another exam tomorrow (big surprise) and will have to make this up on Thursday. See you guys then.

Congrats Jacinto!

One more quick thing before I'm off to bed.

Jacinto, how do you stayed so toned at your age and what did you do to get such big biceps?

Posted by: Adam at October 31, 2007 12:41 AM

PS-- where is our SUPERHERO FRAN VIDEO? Can we post it here since we're going to get a lot of traffic today being a hotlink from the mothership?

Posted by: dan def at October 31, 2007 12:44 AM

Congrats on the retirement Jacinto. You are a true warrior and inspiration to us all. I was telling Keith and the crew at the Box after seeing the SuperFran vid How you could have easily been cast in 300 or any other recent sword and sandal epic. You look amazing for any age.

Posted by: Kevin at October 31, 2007 12:45 AM

Hey NY,

I love this site! I feel really bad for not checking it out until after the A2 controversy on the main site. I am going to add the Black Box to the "must see sites" on One World's page.

Caroline visited you guys and really loved working out there. You guys are awesome. My kind of gym because it looks like you know how to have fun! I think I live on the wrong side of the country!

Happy Halloween to you all!

Posted by: freddy c. at October 31, 2007 12:56 AM

my favorite Jacked-cinto quote, "If I was 20 yrs old I'd be done with this bull shit." When I heard that, it got me going. I hope I'm able to do as many pull ups as you when I grow up! fuck man, talk about inspiration.

Posted by: jay h at October 31, 2007 1:13 AM

yes THE BLACK BOX rocks.

Probably the only affiliate worth making a reality show about.

can we please throw another party, if only to celebrate that superhero Fran was blacklisted. Maybe we can throw a kickass lil screening party.

-Jacinto

Jackie my man you are what I always thought Santa Claus should look like, haha. "This Workout is Bullshit!!!"

Posted by: juan gonzalez at October 31, 2007 1:52 AM

I LOVE YOU JACINTO!!!! Happy retirement! Time to make your own workout vidoes! you can call them

JACINTO'S BULLSHIT!

Posted by: michelle at October 31, 2007 6:41 AM

Guys, I don't think our video ever finished getting edited. TonyB is going to post it on the mothership as soon as he gets it...I'm not sure what happened to the guy that was supposed to edit them.

Yes, a party is in order. We are currently throwing around dates. Stay tuned.

I think we should make a tv show for MTV where we have Ashton Kutcher get beat down by Jacinto. We'll call it "You Got Jacked!"

Posted by: Tyler Durden at October 31, 2007 7:01 AM

Tyler, please make that show HAPPEN.

Jacinto, I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you around much more. You truly are an inspiration to us all.

Posted by: Allison at October 31, 2007 7:19 AM

Congratulations Jacinto!

Posted by: Robzilla at October 31, 2007 7:57 AM

Jacinto is probably the only person I know that's actually "just keepin it real". As in really fckin' impressive.

This WOD would have fit perfectly in my rest-the-arms plan, but gotta stay fresh for soccer tonight.

Happy lifting everyone.

Jacked-Cinto. You friggin rock. You're definitely an inspiration to us all and I'm always glad when I see you at the box. Congrats on the retirement! Now you can spend your days kicking our asses at the Box.

Posted by: juan gonzalez at October 31, 2007 8:42 AM

Congrats Jacinto!!

And Im ready for the reality TV show... Maybe we can kick that Workout show off the air. Talk about some bullshit!

Posted by: Justin at October 31, 2007 9:13 AM

You got jacked! What a great idea! Ashton would get mauled by Jacked-cinto!

Come on people let's market here! Now that we are getting more shout-outs from the West Coast, we need to strike while the iron is hot.

Looks like A2 actually did contribute something positive to the Box after all-more publicity! Thanks gurl! See no one is truly not without some redeeming qualities! :-)

I'm mad that the video wasn't done yet! I showed all that skin and don't even have anything to show for it! Except all those incriminating photos on Dan Def's camera!

Posted by: Jack Bauer at October 31, 2007 9:18 AM

Jacinto, is a true inspiration, and its humbling to work out with him.

My name is Mike, but he calls me Carlos...and I'm totally cool with that. He could call me Sally, and that would be cool too.

Congrats Jacinto!

Retired? Jack is just getting started. Love you Jacinto!

Posted by: Coach P at October 31, 2007 9:45 AM

Jacinto, Congratulations!

You know, of course, that when you're retired you never get a day off.

Now you can concentrate on your real work (force times distance).

Great - just as I'm starting to get to the tail end of Jacinto's dust trail where all things CrossFit are concerned, he's going to have *more* time to train and thereby pick up the pace.

Congratulations though.

Saw this from the main cf cite. The pumpkin is hilarious! From MN, don't know anyone but congratulations jacinto. God bless.

Front squats 5x5:
135
155
160

Legs felt fine. I had a problem staying upright towards the end, Led me to believe my back and core is not as strong as my legs. Since i had gas left in the tank, I thought it would be good to follow up with 5X8-10 of:
GHD/Weighted crunch machine
25/90
35/110

keeping it light today because of the marathon on sunday.

75, 85, 95, 105, 105 (stopped after 2 reps, it was making me nervous)

yesterday's WOD i did with the 12 kg KB in 27:36. would've been curious as to what my time would've been with the 16kg. next time.

Posted by: Allison at October 31, 2007 1:59 PM

um Moon-i had the pleasure of carrying that THING you made across the room a few times and then doing some squats with it. the only thing i can say is that in order to keep that thing from toppling me over i had to work my stomach muscles about 100times harder than i did while giving birth to any of my three kids. that thing is crazy!!!!

did yesterday's workout in 19:40 ish. used 8kg and a band. had I used anything heavier i think i would still be there doing the turkish getups. thanks kevin and keith for working those pullups/kips with me! almost there.

Posted by: michelle at October 31, 2007 2:15 PM

today each and everyone of you have brougth atear to my eye with your wonderful comments.I just want you all to know how appreciative Iam.

Posted by: jacinto at October 31, 2007 2:33 PM

You're the man Father Time! Thanks for showing me how to kip that day after class. You're an integral part of what makes the Box the best damn gym in NYC!

Posted by: Jack Bauer at October 31, 2007 2:39 PM

Im not a gamer...but I think I'm accurate with the statement:

Jacinto pwns n00bs

on another note, WOD yesterday was my first pure KB workout and it was a lot of fun...TGU were slow but noticed that keeping my eye on the KB helped a lot. 24:00 with 16kg... woot (leetspeak again, shit)

Posted by: mc at October 31, 2007 3:21 PM

Michelle - It's too bad we went right for "The Conch" when after your description, I'm thinking "The Birthing Stick" might be even better.

Posted by: Moon at October 31, 2007 3:47 PM

well Moon -next time keith makes me "warm up" with that thing I am going to request an epidural.

say why don't we keep any of those at the Box? Like in a shoe box in the changing room.

Posted by: michelle at October 31, 2007 3:58 PM

I would settle for being Jacinto now, forget the when i'm grown up part. have to concur, now that he's retired, and has more time to workout, everyone will have to pick up the pace.

congrats, Jacinto.

hopefully, i'll make it back to the box after thanxgiving. heading overseas now to get some more of that gastroenteritis from the last trip.
