Tried to do this morning's class but my lower back is still bothering me, so I couldn't do more than 95 pounds without feeling like the squatting would make my back worse. I hate being injured.

In happier news, my friend Jon Friedman is throwing his second-annual Delicious Sandwich Social in Prospect Park on Saturday August 18th and all of y'all should come.
Here's all the relevant details:

And you know that part where he talks about getting your picture taken with the Sand Witch? Well, that's me:

Oh, and the cupcakes that will be there, I'll be making some of them, and they will be GOOD.

Is anything going on at the Box with the rain and trains messing things up?
Posted by: Kevin at August 8, 2007 11:22 AM
We're here, normal schedule. Run here if you have to!

Quick question for the trainers; Which brand of Kettlebells do we have at the box?

btw...if anyone is looking for something to do on monday night, i have a gig at the back fence from 8:30-11:30pm. its free and kind of a dive, but good fun and free peanuts.

Kevin,
I gave up waiting for the train this AM. I guess I wasn't the only one, huh?

Rumor has it it's still a mess out there, so plan ahead.

No Box for Allie again thanks to the rain. I did tabata squats in place of the back squats.
18 new pr. focused on keeping my heels stuck to the floor and not winking my booty.
I'll add some pictures from the weekend to my flicker account for anyone interested in the IFL mma.

Adam
We have mostly dragondoor kettlebells. We also have some light ones from Kettlebell Country. There are some other good brands out there if you're interested, email me.

FYI: For those who don't know me, I'm the bozo who misses his first attempt snatch at 1:15 (made 2 and 3 though).

another great article on the Again Faster blog:

I had the exact same feeling about those stupid Reebok "Run Easy" ads the very first time I saw them!

Reebok is teh ghey. Party on, Jon! Run easy, my ass! Run home to your mommas, bitches!

Way to go, Chad! Your squats went from not to hot!

Thursday WOD:
20:36 5 Rounds (16, 14, 10, 9, 8)
Does anyone else find that their first run from upstairs to the Cuban restaurant and back up takes longer than they would expect for 400 meters? I was expecting sub 2:00, and was 2:36.

Hari,
The run itself looks to be roughly .25 miles. I think the stairs and the obstacles (people) are a problem.
Posted by: Paul S at August 9, 2007 10:12 AM
great pics, SheRa!

Thanks! Yeah, it's too bad they don't award style points, haha. I've been absent from the Box an awful lot and am WAY overdue for some serious metcon. I've got a sprained wrist from a month ago that I finally have a chance to rest, so I may just do modified WODs for the next month or so.
Keith, I ended up snatching ~174lbs (79kg) and clean and jerking 220lbs (BARELY). That damn forward jump doomed me on my snatch opener. I think it went away for attempts 2 and 3...either that or I swung the barbell less.
