Unlike Jefferson, Keith is unlikely to be warmly received in France:

I think that we should try to do the next "Painstorm" that they post. What do you think? :)
Posted by: alex at July 5, 2007 9:11 AM
Juan, um, I mean "Titus Pullo", it's EITHER run OR highpulls, not both.
I'm resting today, so just yoga for me.

So sick. 105 fever last night now down to 103
Abs hurt like never before. Why didn't anyone warn me about that GHD?
Posted by: A2 at July 5, 2007 9:26 AM
A2 - I considered myself warned about the GHD once I read that anecdote where it was made clear that excessive use without proper consideration could result in the dreaded "Hippity Hop Ball Syndrome" (medical models used to illustrate this condition apparently can be purchased here - http://www.athleticstuff.com/astuff/product.asp?s_id=0&dept_id=3630&pf_id=8045.af), necessitating the purchase of specially tailored pants as well as making the climb up the stairs to the gym that much more difficult.

A2 i cannot beleive how well u did yesterday with a high fever coming on. you are superwoman.
Posted by: michelle at July 5, 2007 9:59 AM
A2, sorry to hear about your fever. You just had one recently, what's with all these fevers?
How's the shoulder? Are you going to be better by tomorrow night for swing dancing?
Posted by: Allison at July 5, 2007 10:03 AM
I felt heavy and bloated this am, probably all the salty food from yesterday.
29:37 with 1k row (3:45),
notes: kept having to tighten the foot straps, pullups were tough, got down to 1's and 2's by the end. push jerks unbroken all the way. Pretty satisfied with that. No blister tears today.

oh and A2-and for any other ladies that need them-I am going to leave a pack of pony tail holders at the box tomorrow-in the first aid kit in the bathroom for all the pony tail/ braid "emergencies". :0
Posted by: michelle at July 5, 2007 10:38 AM
Aw Thank you Michelle. You rocked it too. I had such a good time with you and the other girls. The Box had such great energy yesterday.
I really have no idea why I got a fever. My only other symptom is extreme muscle soreness. I guess I just over did it the last week.
Is it possible that my fever is from soreness? I thought I had that disease Keith was talking about where the muscles separate from the body and the liver shuts down and a bunch of other horrible thngs.
Moon, I read all the comments warning the guys about the GHD. When I tried it the first time I thought it was so easy and that it didn't work. Everyone kept telling me to do more. Thanks people.
Allison, I'm in for the swing dancing if I feel better tomorrow. What are you going to wear? Who else is going ?
Posted by: A2 at July 5, 2007 10:45 AM
I agree that all the CrossFit women rocked it big time. You all make me so proud to be a trainer and a member of CFNYC.
A2, make sure you check your urine for discoloration to rule out rhabdomyolysis. I highly doubt you could have it, but better safe than sorry. Here's a description of symptoms, etc:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000473.htm
And don't forget: the GHD puts the "ab" in rhabdo! :)
Posted by: Allison at July 5, 2007 11:25 AM
oh this is going to totally 'challenge' my still pathologically tight shoulders, yuck. can't i just do 1000 double-unders??? ;)
Posted by: michael at July 5, 2007 1:39 PM
Pvt tday. Keith wanted me to do 100 C and J in 1 hr w 65#. Did 80 and it took me 1-3/4 hr and - was trashed! Then 1 hr yoga. Will try to do last 20 tnite aft I teach my yoga class!
1 C2 shipped and on the way--maybe tomorrow or the latest Mon. Now we really need to keep the box tidy w all these neat new toys!

double-checked my total numbers today at the box and it turns out I had mis-remembered my squat score: my actual total was 485, not 480 or 475 (180 squat, 90 press, 215 DL). that'll teach me to remember my card when i leave to go home.
if i were 8 pounds lighter i'd qualify for "advanced" status with that score. looks like it's time to start Zone-ing for real... :)

u amaze me allison and if you'd have been at the games you would have been one of the top few woman! rock on strong.
Posted by: sarena at July 5, 2007 5:41 PM
Hey Allison,
I'm in for Swing dancing, but seeing as my zoot suit is in the dry cleaner what's the next best choice for attire?
Posted by: rob at July 5, 2007 5:53 PM

Posted by: alex at July 5, 2007 7:52 PM

yeah im definitely gonna suit up for the swing dancing or slacks and a shirt at the least. because were gonna want to be looking money, like the bomb; daddy's gonna get us the rainman suite, ya dig.
Posted by: juan g. at July 5, 2007 8:00 PM
ran once around the block as a sub for the Row.
and completed only 2 rounds of both movements and then 1 set of pullups at the cutoff 20 min mark.
Apparently I cant exactly clean 135# from the floor.

Arrrg I am so ^*@^!* mad at myself.
Dumb shoulders got in the way of push press, no way I can extend shoulders *and* do even parital squat to get the movement right, so Keith had me to straight presses, still can't just push up and stick my head through. So I did those with what looked/felt like a 2 lb. bar and 1 oz weight on each side. THEN after 3 mos at CF I couldn't manage 10 straight pull-ups, so jumped most of them. I should have done my run afterwards so I could have done some pedestrian tipping. Not my best showing by a long margin and it seems I still have a lot to work on.
Jacinto rocked as usual as did everyone else.
Thanks for the tip Keith on pushing slow and coceentrating on the head through.
If anyone is in a bad mood, please feel free to stop by and smash my shoulders in for me and re-set them.
I'd love to go swing dancing tomorrow night even though I can't dance a lick, but I have a (first) date with an Angel!
Posted by: Michael at July 5, 2007 8:35 PM
OK so I did it! Finished the last 20 C&J @65# at my gym. Then did my xtra 2 punishment sets! And those 12 sets took me a grand total of 12 min!
Posted by: sarena at July 5, 2007 8:35 PM

I have a theory that workplace violence starts when your manager and team have you staying at the office late enough to miss the WOD.
Posted by: Jeff at July 6, 2007 12:14 AM
100 SDHP with 1.5 pood
otherwise as rx'd

Felt like crap today. I think it was all the food I ate on the 4th. Way too much sweets, junk food and for some odd reason soda.
Posted by: Kevin at July 6, 2007 12:15 AM
Man, I need to start to working out with you guys more often. My times have sucked ass for the last 2 weeks.

Oh no dancers it's going to rain tonight. :(
Posted by: A2 at July 6, 2007 5:03 AM
I can't sleep anymore. I'm bored
Posted by: A2 at July 6, 2007 5:16 AM
If your feeling better from your fever since you're up, maybe hit the morning class. Thats usually what I do when I cant sleep. I am up because my back hurts. Ever since last week an old back injury returned(long story). Basically too much drinking at a friends party and "SB" to quote Rippetoe.
Unfortunately my back stiffens and cramps up to the point that it disturbs my sleep after a few hours. Sucks
