Hm...I'm going to have to miss this one...got burned tonight during my act...definitely not life threatening, but pretty painful, and I need to have it taken care of tomorrow morning. morning...unless any of you CF'ers are doctors, nurses, pharmacists, shamans, or traditional healers that can prescribe/make me an antibiotic ointment.

Surfing weekend for me -- 3 sessions of about 2.5 hours each. Nothing big, but lots of clean longboarding.

Was thinking of trying Cindy this afternoon, but my hands are still chewed up from that 5 rounds of 25 on Thursday.

kudos to mike for pushing me to do cindy as rx'd rather then the jumping pull-ups i did on my first cindy.

so i can say the magic words;

AS RX'D
16 rounds plus 1 pull-up. only 3 1/2 rounds less then jumping cindy last time. goal next cindy; 20. i did do most pull-ups underhand but i beleive those are considered official too.

Guys, today marks my last day of monthly Black Box membership until November. About 1.5 months ago, my Mary was at 5 rounds + 5 hspu + 10 pistols and today I made 10 rounds + 5 hspu (thanks, Kip!). I've also got 2 tears apiece on both hands, a pair of tailbone/butt scabs from Annie and a blister on my big toe from Fight Club, so overall it was a pretty good week.

Hopefully, I won't be too much of a stranger and I'll come in for drop-in classes and stay in the loop of any other extra-curricular activities, but I'll leave you with this:

16 rounds of Cindy (ok actually 15 rounds plus 5 pulls, 10 push, 13 squats) so I rounded up. Well, at least my left hand gets to share in the punishment this time around. Finally a PR for me!!! Pretty excited about that.

Great job to everyone who was at the box today. All really kicked much ass!!!!

13 rounds and five jumping pullups and subbed 1/2 girlie pushups. Those pushups are killer. I need some serious advice on how to be able to do more than 10 regular ones. Jumping pullups were pretty easy so with Hari as my motivator I am hoping to get one real one someday soon! Thanks Hari as always.

Your welcome.

I'm sure you are much closer to a pullup than you think. I notice when you try to pull yourself up, you move away from the bar. (Perhaps you're leaning back because your worried about banging your head on the bar?)

I suggest you try going closer to straight up. Imagine how much more work it would be to press a given weight up to a point six inches in front of or behind your head, instead of directly over head.

(The same principle is at work when you do dips. You want to keep your hands close to your body so you apply force straight up and down.)

I think my theory might also explain why you're so good on negatives; there, your motion is much closer to perfectly vertical.

Finally, note that what I'm saying is not applicable when you are kipping. When you kip, you want to end up with your body in front of the bar at the bottom and behind the bar at the top.

also for the Portland Certification in September, Im already paid up but sorta messed up my payment increments, so that I ended up coming in $50 short, Deana at CFHQ says:

"Hi Juan,
Quite a few people have been doing that all of a sudden, so I think we need to figure something out to help folks with their payments. :-) It would work best for us if you pay another $100 online and then pay the final $50 at the certification."
