Oh man I'm meeting some friends for dim sum at 1030AM down in Chinatown I wonder if I can get in at 10AM and crank it out so I can make it downtown. I'm doin' it.

Is there a substitute for jumping rope? I don't like to jump. I know I'll have to get used to it eventually but I don't want to start tomorrow.
PLease let me know asap because if there isn't a sub I'm going to skip the workout and sleep in.
Thanks

yeah I can't do double unders so what is the sub?
Posted by: michelle at May 12, 2007 8:47 AM
We usually sub 10:1 single unders for double unders.
Posted by: Keith W. at May 12, 2007 9:49 AM
keith...that's so evil.
mmm...1500 single unders.
Posted by: David Aguasca at May 12, 2007 10:22 AM
tuck jumps are a good sub too
Posted by: Brett_nyc at May 12, 2007 11:24 AM
I don't think it's that evil. Try doing 50 doubles and 500 singles and you'll find that the 50 doubles are still worse.

Sub was, indeed, 10-1.
Due to pullup bar space issues on KTE's, we went with simple ab mat situps. It still sucked.

Also, is there a sub for exercises that involve lifting heavy objects? Or for any of those that get me out of breath? I hate those. If that's what we're doing tomorrow, I'm sleeping in too.

19:12 I believe it was. Could've done it faster but I really didn't feel like it this morning. Oh well. Followed that up with:
power snatch
135 x 4 x 3
Full Snatch
135 x 5 x 2
See you tomorrow and I, for one, hope it's heavy lifting.

14:20 and, as usual, a nice big rasberry on my ass.
i think i would have preferred knees to elbows.

A2, am I going to have to buy you this shirt?

today's WOD wasn't difficult, just way too long. i think this was the first time i did a CF workout that lasted longer than 30 minutes. needless to say, i did 1500 single-unders...

Learned more about windmills, Sotts presses and kb jerks in Court's class today. Lots of fun, but it will take some time for me to get comfortable with the windmills.
Showed up 30 mins early to work on squat snatches. Way too many misses working up to 135...my head just wasn't into it today. Pulls felt strong, but bar trajectory and catches were off.

...I guess lifting with a mild hangover wasn't too good an idea.

14:09. And I also have a rasberry on my ass. Ouch that burns! When I took a shower I was screaming. Icyhot eventually helped but not at first.
First time this happened with situps. I would rather do KTE or situps without the Abmat.
Had to stop and pull my shorts up everytime I was jumping rope because they were falling off.
Thanks to Josh and Court for the kb skill work.

Apologies to alex for flinging the rope and hitting your eye. Got a bit overzealous there.

16:23 with 5:1 sub during the 11 am class. I don't think Josh wanted to stand around and watch us jump rope for 40 minutes.
Afterwards some review of the muscle-up. It's good to be back!

As I was jumping rope on Friday night doing mad skillz I thought to myself, hmmmm I bet we will have to jump work for the WOD on Saturday!
No worries Kevin, next time I will duck! :)
I was very happy that I did my WOD as rx'd for a change! 20:30.
Good luck to everyone running tomorrow!
A2 where have you been?

15:05 as Rx... No raspberries, but the dbl unders today (and the ones I did last night during the skills) have my calves a bit sore.
Im off to Florida for the next few days due to a death in the family... Be back on Wednesday to all the craziness.
