Journal

As most of you have doubtless deduced, CFNYC is the New York affiliate of CrossFit's international headquarters, out in Santa Cruz, CA. We get a lot from HQ - first and foremost the wonderful, free programming, instructional videos and other resources at www.crossfit.com. And while they make no money from that site, or from affiliates like us, they sustain serious costs - crossfit.com, for example, moved 6 terabytes of data in February.

So, how does CrossFit, Inc., make money to sustain itself? Mainly, the CrossFit Journal. It's a great resource in and of itself, and it's cheap at $25 a year - both for the information it contains, and as a way to support the CrossFit movement worldwide.

So, in short, if you haven't already, please subscribe, and keep our parent organization alive and growing.

I just happened to finally get around to subscribing yesterday, and let me just say that this month's issue is great--it's definitely worth the $25/year.

Thanks for that input Josh but let me ask you--I recvd a lot of journals to read for the cert! will I continue to get after or now if when i start to subscribe for myself? All I know is how am I gonna review materials from '02 until now in less than 2 weeks and live my life including hosting my daughter's engagement party on Sunday?

Sun workout:
For time-complete as many reps as poss in 20 min:
15 1-arm OH weighted OH lunges
10 pushups
5 1 arm snatches or hi-pulls

Did 6 rounds in 11:11, had to leave early
used 8kg KB (did hi-pulls, rds 5 &6 were knee pushups)

A little known fact is that when you sign up for a Cert, they send you a huge pdf will all the CFJs up that point. Pretty cool. You should still subscribe so that you continue to get all the issues. The CFJ is an amazing resource. The only problem is that they have gotten so much bigger (over 30 pages) that I don't like to print them out any more. :)

hooray CFJ! it's worth double, triple what we pay for it, really.

keith...do you think you'll host any oly lifting seminars before september? also, i can't make it in there until after my circus performance. yeah, i joined a circus, and i can't do anything that will endanger the show.

there's no business like show business...

Posted by: David Aguasca at March 5, 2007 12:20 AM

oooh or how about some all-oly classes :)

Posted by: dammit at March 5, 2007 4:23 AM

Well sometime this week we will have a 7x3 clean workout. :)

David, Good luck with the Circus. If you want to talk to any circus people, I have a lot of circus friends.

I am sure before September we'll get it together enough to host a seminar on Olympic Lifting.
